Notes:
Fascinating account of the work of the Swedish sporting artist Bruno Liljefors (1860-1939). Some sketches and sculpture but mainly paintings of wildfowling, rough shooting and sporting quarry in their natural setting: foxes, capercailzie, hares, geese, ducks and birds of prey. Text translated into English by Lt.-Col. A. Poignant, O.B.E. (mil), M.C. Ian Alcock gave a copy of this book to the young Rodger McPhail, as encouragement... "I gave Rodger a copy of Dr. K.E. Russow's book on Bruno Liljefors, the great Swedish wildlife artist who died in 1939, regarded by many throughout the world as 'The Master' amongst wildlife artists." [From, Rodger McPhail: Artist, Naturalist, Sportsman, p7.]
