Notes: This is an interesting history of sport fishing in California. Begins in the period when worn out barges and sailing ships were permanently moored off the coast, cheaply serving huge numbers of anglers. This period ended with the progressive disintegration of these vessels and the onset of the Pacific War. The book concludes with the development of the modern charter boat fleet. Includes a certain amount on commercial fishing of the period.
