..."A facsimile reprint of the first two editions, with "Brief Notes on English Angling Bibliographies" by Jack Heddon." This edition is limited to 225 copies, with 25 copies Out of Series (so, presumably not sold to the public). The first 50, the Edition-de-Luxe, are numbered I-L, and subsequent copies, in the Standard Limited Edition, 51-225. This copy is no. XLIV of the Edition-de-Luxe, hand- bound by A.F. Sismore, with Sismore's signed ticket to the rear of the slip- case. According to Heddon's introductory essay; "The first angling bibliography to be published ...appeared in 1811 as a contribution to No. IX of The British Bibliographer..., a scholarly periodical edited by Sir Egerton Brydges with the assistance of Joseph Haslewood. In the same year a revised edition with the addition of a title-page and index, but no record of authorship, was printed... this edition ...formed a sound basis for future angling bibliographies." Jack Heddon goes on to detail subsequent bibliographies which were based on Henry Ellis' work, up to the appearance of Westwood and Satchell.
