Many of the chapters were originally published in "Whitehall Review," "Land and Water" and "Longman's Magazine". There are two known bindings. Binding A is in grey cloth with a bull's skull and horns on the upper board. Binding B is in grey cloth with a trout leaping from water in black and mountains in the background in red on the upper board with a stag's head on the rear board. This copy is binding B.
