First published by Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1899. The first Hodder and Stoughton edition was published in 1906, illustrated with coloured plates and bound in blue pictorial cloth. This copy, published as part of Hodder and Stoughton's Pocket Friendly Books series, carries no date of publication. However the dust-wrapper carries advertisements for several books that were published in 1924 and 1925. The price printed on the spine of the dust-wrapper is 3/6 net. Delightful and literary angling stories, mostly based in North America, with a chapter on Norwegian fishing, and one on "Fishing in Books".
