Binding A is light green cloth and has the spine titled in gilt. Binding B has the spine titled in black and has been seen in both olive-green and blue-green cloth. This copy is Binding B. This is actually a re-issue of the first edition. A and C Black sold unbound sheets of the first edition to Jonathan Cape. (Cave). Cape added illustrations by C.F. Tunnicliffe, all on their three new preliminary leaves, and coloured pictorial end-papers. This is trimmed a little smaller than the first edition.
