MR. CRABTREE'S GUIDE TO GOOD FISHING TACKLE. By Hal Mount. With illustrations by David Carl Forbes.
1969 1st edition. Oblong 4to paperback (248 x 195mm). Pp88. Colour and b/w photographs, illustrations by David Carl Forbes, b/w cartoon strip by Bernard Venables.
A good practical book which recommends a range of new rods and reels for the various species and disciplines of angling. This was at the time of the change from split-cane to hollow fibreglass, so both types of rod are well represented. Articles on lures, knots, etc. by Hal Mount with a colour plate of flies and a cartoon strip article on flycasting (from Mr. Crabtree Goes Fishing) by Bernard Venables, though no acknowledgement is made to Venables.
