This book is based on "BB"s earlier "Be quiet and go a-angling" (1949), written under the pseudonym "Michael Traherne." However, it would appear that "BB" intended publishing "Fisherman's Folly" very much earlier since he cites it as a source for a chapter, "The Abbey Moat", in "The Fisherman's Bedside Book" (1945).
