This is an interesting anthology of pieces on big game hunting and deer shooting by a wide range of women writers, largely from the twentieth century. Bear, deer, elk and other quarry in North America, trapping, shooting on the Nile, lots of big game hunting in various parts of Africa, lions, tigers, ducks, geese and shooting over marshes, antelope, coyote shooting and a lot else besides. The editor is the author of Woman the Hunter, co-author of Gun Women: Firearms and Feminism in Contemporary America, and general editor of Stackpole Books' Sisters of the Hunt series ...and is an associate professor of women's studies and religion at Skidmore College.
