This first reprinting was printed on coated paper stock which was found to be unsatisfactory and therefore was limited to only 150 copies. The original publisher of [the first] edition was Reich Reprints, which was later incorporated as Falcon Head Press". (Swift, 178.01). The other noticeable difference between the first edition and the revised edition is that the revised addition has had page numbers added". Few men have contributed more positively to the sport of falconry than the erudite Dr. Robert M. Stabler. Recognized as a founding father of American falconry, this man tirelessly compiled and edited the American Falconers' Club Journals. [We thank] Dr. Stabler for ...his unselfish permission to reprint the entire American Falconers' Club Journals. He was gracious enough to allow us the use of his own personal journals for publishing purposes. ...The first quarter of the twentieth century ushered into this country the active practice of falconry. Within these pages will be found the only complete chronicled account of organized falconry in the United States. Our publication will fill the void left by the scarcity of the original issues. Perhaps, after these trying times have past, American Falconers' cultural heritage will be traced back to this basic cornerstone of documented literature". The Publishers.
