# Account of the Trans World Fishing Team's search for the mahseer in the 1970's. The team (Robert Howitt and brothers, Andrew and Martin Clark) was formed with the intention of seeking out the mahseer which was then rare and, by some, presumed extinct. After four years' preparation, they set off in 1977 to travel overland by Landrover to India, within which they travelled widely. Includes detailed descriptions of fishing and catches, mainly on the Cauvery River, as well as much incidental activity and observation, including trips to Joubert and De Wet van Ingen's workshop in Mysore where some of the team's specimen mahseer were eventually mounted. This appears to be the first edition, but is newly bound in blue laminated boards and has a new dust-wrapper.
