This book was produced in conjunction with the Kendal Museum, as a pictorial record of the museum's fine taxidermy collection. "This first book features photographs of many exquisite and exceptional pieces of taxidermy, including a number of rare and extinct specimens, most of which have not been on general display. The book [includes] examples of taxidermyby H. Murray and Son, Rowland Ward, Peter Spicer, Charles Kirk and Edward Gerrard among others. It also provides a brief insight into the history of the museum and how it's irreplaceable collections have evolved over the years". The first in a series of three books about the Kendal Museum collections. One of only 40 numbered quarter-bound copies.
