THE PASSIONATE ANGLER. By Maurice Wiggin. Collector's Book Club Edition.

1949 1st edition. 8vo (150 x 222mm). Pp136. B/w scraperboard drawings by John Pezare. Full dark green polished calf, spine titled in gilt, gilt spider vignette on upper board, top edge gilt, silk marker, gilt monogram incorporating the letter B at foot of spine, marble-effect end-papers. Binding Variant C - The Spider Edition, with Brun's logo on the spine rather than the crown logo of the Collector's Book Club.

Memories of fishing, coarse and fly; especially from Wiggin's Black Country childhood, and from later years on the brooks of the Welsh Marches. Most of the copies of this edition were bound in mid-green calf and most were signed and numbered. Some (higher numbers or out-of-series copies) were bound in dark green calf with Brun's logo on the spine rather than the crown logo of the Collector's Book Club. Presumably these were sold by Brun, with at least some copies going to America.
