Nine chapters on mahseer fishing, one each on Carnatic carp, labeo, seetul and batchwa, murral, eels, estuary fishing, hill sanatoria, rod and tackle, other fishing gear, tame otters, spawning, stocking ponds, plus a chapter giving instructions on miscellaneous subjects such as crocodile fishing, suffocating a whale and a porpoise and fish taxidermy. A chapter each on fishing locations in the Bombay Presidency, the Madras Presidency and Bengal and the North West Provinces. Reprint of the revised third edition of 1897: "As the Second Edition of this book was, in comparison with the First Edition, 'nearly half of it a new book', so the Third Edition makes afurther stride in the like direction with more than a third of new matter". * Books published in India are generally not as strongly bound as those published in the West.
