A DREAM OF CARP: BOOK TWO: THE SOMERSET YEARS 2003 - 2009. By Mike Starkey. Paperback issue.

2011 1st edition. Paperback issue. Square 8vo paperback (205 x 205mm). Pp112. Colour photographs and illustrations.

A continuation of the author's 2004 book, A Dream of Carp". I never expected to be writing a sequel to my first book. The reason being that I never thought I would achieve anything in carp fishing that I had not already done. The area of Somerset, with a few exceptions, is devoid of waters where carp in excess of 30lb can be readily found, but this is improving. In truth I found it difficult to find a water where multiple catches could be made and even twenties were hard to find. Many of the local anglers tended to travel further afield to more productive waters". Despite this the author manages to capture an impressive number of very large carp, the stories of which are recounted here. Chapters include:- The Sedges; Burton Springs; Ash; Emerald - Jade Pool; Blackditch; Durleigh Reservoir; Sway; Velocity; Cellophane; Walton; Walrow; King Sedgemoor Drain; Postscript. There are also several guest chapters:- A time of Broadwater twenties by Ian Davey; Swan Lane thirties by Mick Bannister; Northfield White Lake by Mike Homan; Three lakes, four thirties by Mark Adams. The book was published in 2011 in both hardback (FishingBookSender) and paperback (Morpheus Creative Solutions). This is a copy of the paperback edition. Though all copies of this edition are numbered the limitation is not stated.
