ORDERING & PAYMENT
Orders may be placed via our secure website, or by email, telephone or letter. Most people order via the website or by telephone, giving a credit or debit card number. We also accept cheques in GB pounds or US dollars for orders placed via letter. Please make all cheques payable to Coch-y-Bonddu Books Ltd.
We are very conscious of the need for credit-card security. We are PCI compliant and do not store card information. Web-site orders are channelled through Opayo, a secure processor, and we do not receive your card information. As soon as telephone orders are processed we shred all card information.
While we frequently have multiple copies of the books listed, whether new or second-hand, we recommend that you phone or email to confirm availability before sending a cheque. Please also provide us with a daytime telephone number or email address when ordering by post. When placing an order via the website, you will receive an email confirming that we have received your order and are checking our stock. You will receive another email when your books are despatched.
Most UK orders are sent using Royal Mail Tracked or 48h delivery with a maximum charge of £6. Special Delivery is also available.
Overseas postage is charged at cost and is sent via Airmail. For America and places further afield, one book costs £9.00 to send, and £2.50 for each subsequent book. For Europe we charge £7.00 for the first book, and £2.50 for each subsequent book. If you pay too much postage we will always refund you the difference. We now offer Tracked and Signed overseas delivery, charging £10-£12 for the first book and £2.50 for each subsequent book. We can also arrange express overseas delivery to most destinations, although this can be expensive. Please call or email us if you require a quote.
SENDING BOOKS TO THE EU
In line with the new requirements in place since January 1st 2021, we attach a customs declaration form, clearly stating content and value, to each parcel destined for an EU country. The recipient may be required to pay import VAT, customs duties and potentially a handling charge. Most European countries charge between 5-20% VAT on books, apart from Ireland where books are zero-rated for VAT. Customs duty is calculated based on the value of the item and varies from country to country. Some governments have outsourced the collection of these charges to couriers who then pass this supplementary cost on to the customer at the point of delivery. Apologies to our valued European customers, but as we cannot take responsibility for taxes and charges beyond our control, please check your own country's rules and regulations prior to purchase.
When your order is placed via our secure website, your payment is not processed until your books have been collected and are ready for despatch. This allows us the opportunity to offer you an alternative copy, if your first choice has already been sold and also to amend/reduce your postage costs. We will always contact you about any changes and you will always receive a payment receipt in your delivery.
Please allow at least 14 working days before contacting us to chase up your order. When placing an order you will be given an order reference number. Please retain this and quote it when making further enquiries.
IMAGES & CONDITION
We are gradually adding images of the front covers of books. In the case of modern books, these are scans of any fine copy of this book, and are as an example only. It is not necessarily the copy that you will be purchasing. In particular, if you are ordering a second-hand book please read the description. Do not assume that the book will look exactly the same as the image which appears on this site. If you require further images of a specific copy of a book then please do not hesitate to ask.
