The second part are angling reminiscences through the seasons. "Containing a series of dainty little essays on fishing in different months of the year, and a medley of angling stories and sketches in "Red Spinner's" happiest vein. In the words of the author, it is a book for the fisherman to slip into his pocket to be read when he is taking his mid-day rest and smoking the pipe of peace." (Contemporary advertisement).
