"On the banks of untamed Nordic waters: A Swedish angler's experiences". "A selection from the books 'Nappatag' and 'Laxogat'. Translated from Swedish by Hermann Aldinger". Hans Lidman is a sporting writer from Edsbyn in Sweden, famous in Scandinavia. Lidman was a keen angler and sportsman who also illustrated many of his own works. His first book was published in 1945, followed by 25 others during the next fifteen years. Most of these titles ran to several reprints. This book contains a German translation of a selection of accounts of Lidman's fly fishing experiences, selected from his books Nappatag ("Tussle / Struggle") and Laxogat (Eye of the Salmon). Text in readable and direct (and presumably quite Scandinavian) German, often in the present tense and frequently in the simple past.
