With a Preface by Maurice Wiggin and an Introduction by H.R. Whates. This is a detailed look at the author's experiments with spinners, plugs and other lures, particularly his "spandle" lures made from spoons and toothbrush handles. Much of this material first appeared in the Birmingham Mail, The Angler, the Montgomeryshire Express and the Shropshire Magazine. Thurlow Craig also wrote novels and non-fiction based on his experiences as a cowboy in South America between the wars, and later, for many years, he wrote a countryside column in the Sunday Express newspaper. He wrote two other books in series with this one, Spinner's Delight and Shooter's Delight. He was one of Rickards and Bannister's Ten Greatest Pike Anglers, described by them as "almost certainly the father of modern lure fishing". Chapters include: The Anglers' Co-operative Association; The cost, the wherefore and the why; Spoons, etc; Spandles; Bait-assembly kit; Wooden spinning lures; Wooden plugs; Small lures; The last five.
