W.H. Lawrie takes a look at river trout flyfishing for trout in the Scottish borders, with a good section on river flies, natural and artificial. Includes the Rivers Tweed, Ettrick, Yarrow, Manor, Teviot, Gala and others. "His use of a dropper nymph in conjunction with a dry fly and a special night-fly hook and dry-fly dressings are original." (Robb). The 1946 edition is printed on thinner paper, and is appreciably slimmer than the first, or subsequent, editions.
