Two appendices give "a list of known fishing tackle retailers and manufacturers from the last 350 years", and, "Hardy reels, and their dates of commencement of production and when discontinued, together with numbers of some of the reels whose production was confined to the period 1925 to 1939, taken from the Hardy Production Book for that period, the previous records having been destroyed during World War II."
