Salvin, author of Falconry In The British Isles, for his assistance in compiling the falconry chapter, "He has also very kindly lent some of the plates from that valuable work." The four plates referred to, three of falconry equipment and one by George Edward Lodge of a goshawk taking a rabbit, are numbered I, II & III, IV and V, and in this copy they are bound in at the back, after the text.
