Corbett's first collection of recollections of his pursuit of man-eating tigers in the Kumaon Hills of Northern India. Includes one short chapter on mahseer fishing. The early Indian editions, and the first UK edition, included a chapter on cine-filming, "Just tigers", which was omitted from most later editions. A few rather poor photographs, from Corbett's films, were included only in the Indian editions.
