The angling text, "Maxims and hints for an angler, By A Bungler," consists of "Extracts from the Common Place Book of the Houghton Fishing Club;" and notes and advice on flyfishing for trout, principally on the river Test. The section on "maxims and hints" on playing chess is from page 55 onwards. Page 81 onwards consists of "Maxims and hints on shooting and other matters".
