NOTES ON TROUT FISHING IN LAKE VYRNWY AND THE UPPER VYRNWY RIVER. By Richard E. Threlfall.

1947 1st edition. Small 8vo (127 x 191mm). Pp32. Not illustrated. Brown cloth, upper board titled in blue. Edition limited to 500 numbered copies.

A guide to fishing Vyrnwy with particular emphasis on the river. Only 500 copies were printed. "These short notes are intended essentially for fly-fishermen of limited experience, but it is hoped that they will not be altogether despised by the expert. ...The author has for forty years - wars and hydrocarbons permitting - fished regularly the Vyrnwy river; and the lake less regularly. He would regard himself as competent to speak with some authority on the river... and if with less on the lake, he believes that he can be of some help to his fellow anglers who have not had the same opportunities. ...But whether or not the advice given in these pages be good or bad, they contain the results of the author's experience only and have not been taken from others. The author in fact must confess that he has never really read any authority more modern than Izaak Walton, neither does he often see the sporting periodicals."
