# This is the fourth edition of a concise practical guide to predator control, produced for the benefit of sportsmen and conservationists. It was originally produced by a working party made up of representatives of the Home Office, Nature Conservancy, Forestry Commission, MAFF, Game Research Association, Eley Game Advisory Station, Council for Nature, Mammal Society, Fauna Preservation Society, British Field Sports Society, National Farmers' Union, Masters of Foxhounds' Association and Masters of Otterhounds' Association. The working party included names such as The Earl of Cranbrook, Dr. J.D. Lockie, Dr. E.G. Neal, and Captain R.E. Wallace. "The Council for Nature was disbanded in 1980. Many of its functions were taken over by the Council for Environmental Conservation [which] has agreed that the copyright of this 4th edition shall be held ...by the BFSS."
