"Renz Waller, Painter, Falconer, Author: A Biography". Fascinating biography of an obviously talented man with many pages of accomplished sketches and paintings. Text in German. Waller was one of the founders of the Deutscher Falken-Orden (German Falconry Association, 1924). Waller rose to prominence subsequently, particularly during the 1930's when falconry was enthusiastically patronised by the German government. 1935 saw the first edition of his book, Der Wilde Falk' ist mein Gesell (The Wild Falcon is my Companion). Besides pursuing falconry as a sport, the DFO pioneered the study of raptor biology and ecology, as well as conservation.The biography also details Waller's post-war work until his demise in 1979. An interesting account of an important falconer not well known in this country.
