The author, paralysed after a pig-sticking accident, recounts his tales of deer stalking, grouse shooting and fishing on the Scaliscro estate in the Isle of Lewis, mostly from an improvised sedan chair. His tales of Indian sport - hog-hunting, tiger and bear shooting, pre-date his accident. Includes two full chapters on angling - one on fishing in the Lews, and one on the river Exe in Devon.
