Parson Newland writes: "...All that I have ever contemplated in writing this book, is to give my readers some idea of a fisherman's life ... Many a green bank have I trodden since those days - many a rapid and many a pool have I thrown my fly over; but there is no 'fisherman's home' like the old low-browed room at Belleek, and no river in the whole world like my first love - the Erne."
