South African trout fishing reminiscences and tips. Robb devotes ten pages to "Kingfisher" in his Notable Angling Literature. He was a hugely successful angler who refuted the idea of imitation, fishing one large single attractor pattern, usually an Invicta, downstream and across. Curtis (Fishing the margins) is of the opinion that this "sets South African fly fishing back decades". Well worth a read whichever side of the debate you sit. Callahan's Dictionary of Sporting Pen-names incorrectly gives his name as Fred Bowber.
