E.G. Webber's sequel to his equally amusing You Should've Been Here on Thursday. This series of amusing accounts of trout fishing in New Zealand, taken from the author's own experiences met with some success in its day. Talking of both this and Webber's previous book, New Zealand angling bibliographer Paul Corliss writes "[You Should've Been Here on Thursday and Try Again Friday] are illustrated by noted cartoonist Nevile Lodge. ...The cartoons lend them an air of comedy but this is misleading. While written with humour this is severe and challenging stuff for its time. Both are not as appreciated as they deserve". E.G. Webber became well-known as a writer in New Zealand with the books he wrote during the Second World War.
