Hibben, a famous archaeologist, hunter and conservationist, was instrumental in introducing several African species to New Mexico. In thirty-six safaris between 1949 and 1997 he hunted all the game species of Africa, major and minor. This new book contains the best of his earlier book, "Hunting in Africa", as well as seventeen previously unpublished stories. Before Chad, Somalia, and Kenya banned hunting, he captured such unusual animals as the eastern bongo, dibatag gazelle, and addax.
