This is a compendious account of modern deer hunting in the USA. contents include biographies of noted American deer hunters, biology and behaviour of deer, tracking, sections on the American tradition of deer hunting, buckskin, the deer camp, scientific research and bow hunting. The final section includes an excellent and extensive bibliography of deer hunting books with useful notes on each. A useful and interesting book for anyone interested in deer stalking and deer management. The author amplified this work with two further volumes, Deer and Deer Hunting 2, and Deer and Deer Hunting 3 (our stock numbers 21969, 21970). The three books together would make a particularly good basis for further reading and research.
